MSC Cruises Officially Names Its Latest Cruise Ship ‘Virtuosa’ In Dubai

MSC Cruises finally and officially has acknowledged that MSC Virtuosa is part of a long-standing commitment to the UAE. The Port Rashid ceremony was attended by eminent guests like Sophia Loren, the godmother, and widely known Hollywood icon. She addressed the audience in Italian and English. Also present at the event were Francesco Veniero, the ship’s captain, and other local dignitaries.

On Saturday, Rag’n’Bone Man, a popular singer had engaged the audience with his performance in front of a firework display during a gala dinner.

Virtuosa is going to set sail from Dubai up to March 2022. MSC Virtuosa spent last year’s summer doing round-Britain cruises. It was also the first cruise vessel to restart the UK operations amidst the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

The chair of MSC Cruises, Pierfrancesco Vago, declared that the company was honored to host the maritime tradition ceremony in the UAE, to mark their long-term and longstanding commitment to the region.

MSC Virtuosa hosts 10 restaurants, 19 decks, 21 lounges, and bars. Its MSC Starship Club is staffed by Rob, who is a humanoid robotic bartender.

Onboard is a 945-seat theatre, luxurious spa, spacious gym, barbershop, salon, fun kids’ clubs, games hub, and five pools. It also has an exclusive Water Park.

The vessel also boasts a promenade that is 112-meter long. It also flaunts a gorgeous LED skydome. Yesterday, after the naming ceremony was over, MSC Virtuosa set sail from Dubai to embark on its maiden journey.

The vessel will be serving Arabian Sea itineraries in winter from the Dubai homeport. The destinations include Sir Bani Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, and Doha. MSC Cruises will strive to make sure that the emirate is recognized as a world-class cruise destination.
